EdcampPGH is a free, one day conference where community members interested in learning and
education come together to connect, support one another and share their wisdom. EdcampPGH is an organic and
participant-driven professional development for educators, reliant on the “law of two feet,” which encourages
participants to seek conversations that meet their needs. It’s an untraditional way of sharing knowledge and
teaching practices. Hence, this type of organizing to learn is an “unconference.”
Logistical information for edcampPGH
We, your friendly neighborhood edcampPGH organizing team, want to share these last-minute tidbits to help ensure your edcamp experience is smooth, trouble free and overloaded with awesome:
Event Location
edcampPGH will be held at Propel School-Braddock Hills High School 1500 Yost Road Braddock Hills Shopping Center Pittsburgh, PA
Registration / doors open at 8:00 am Registration @ 8:30AM
Please be patient as you see the organizing team and volunteers scurrying madly in the minutes leading up to 8:30 am … This is when we will begin checking people in!
Parking
There will be parking in the Propel School parking lots and around the venue..
Breakfast & Building the board
Sign in will be in the entrance lobby. You do not have to print your ticket prior to coming. Once you sign in, you’ll be guided to where we are meeting and it will give you time to enjoy coffee and breakfast. We’ll be creating the schedule for the day in the same room, so find a place to sit and relax once you’ve gotten something to eat. Use this time to share/think about what topics you’d like to discuss and perhaps volunteer to lead a session. We will have volunteers help guide you on how to participate in building the board.
BYOD, Wifi and Tech support
This is a Bring Your Own Device event. You’ll have access to WiFi.
If you are interested in leading a session and would like to request access to an LCD projector or speakers please make that information known when you help build the board.
Session Schedule
Once the schedule of sessions for the day is determined, it will be posted on the front page of www.edcampPGH.com
Lunch
Lunch will be provided for all attendees who registered.
